Famous photographers - birds and insects?

Okay for my college project we have to research the theme of "the natural world" (basically anything not man made). Now there's tons of landscape photographers(ansel adams being one of my favourites) but i don't know of any famous photographers who photograph birds and insects, or even famous photographs of birds and insects. Any ideas?

You should be able to find some in National Geographic. I don't know if you would really consider them "famous" but probably as well known as they will come for that type of photography.
