How do I get the "Vanity Fair" look, where people's skin looks perfect. It has a nice sheen to it. Is there a lotion trick or something?

Start with a great makeup artist, and then Photoshop to finish it off.

You can look up tutorials ton skin re-touching, that should keep you busy for a while.

I agree that you need heavy makeup with a makeup artist then edit as needed in photoshop.

Of course there are a few lotions and and a few tricks. Mainly "the Vanity Fair look" is created by a lot of hard work from photographers, assistants, stylists, MUA's, photoshop wizards and huge budgets.

This look can be obtained by you through shooting and editing until you are blue in the face. Then shoot and edit some more. All the while absorb as much knowledge as you can through online resources and books.

I use Viveza which is one click and then sliders to adjust skin colour, warmth, brightness etc. and then a software portrait filter for control of classic soft focus if necessary.
Very speedy.
