If you have a BG-E2 vert grip and BGM-E2 battery magazine for the Canon 20D you'll want to check this out.

Vert grips with the serial numbers 000001 - 096000 need to be repaired, and battery magazines with the silver colored contacts need to be replaced (with gold colored contacts).

I sent mine off for the repair/replacement, and it was back within 2 weeks.
