I get Popular Photography, Ourdoor Photography , and Shutterbug, and really like all 3.

Flaunt, Vogue, Wired. Almost anything is really a photo mag these days. I don't like the Fine Art photo mags, they tend to be too obscure, and I'm tired of images of zitty art students sitting expressionless on wooden furniture. I have no use for gear porn, but must admit some of them offer good Photoshop tutorials. Get the English mags, they're better than the American ones.

National Geographic - not a photography magazine per se, but what's in there is just stunning - there's an excellent set in the latest issue from Steve McCurry - you just don't get better.

It's hit or miss. The 'portfolio' issue really highlighted some alternate techniques that I find fascinating. Some of it is frufy tripe but I certainly keep revisiting the mag, moreso than B&W.

I have no use for gear porn

Urghh thanks for mentioning that. I think a non-photography mag would be best due to me being a minimum-wage-earning college student. If I have to put up with all that shiny, extremely expensive gear being thrown at my face every page, I'll end up crying whenever I turn a page.

I do see how any magazine is a photo magazine, though. National Geographic looks great from the samples I'm looking at right now. Thanks for the suggestions.

When was the last time you saw an magazine with no picures in it? ;)

If you want to see nice car images, get a car magazine. If you want to see food pictures buy a cooking magazine. If you want to see brides, get a bridal magazine.

I enjoy Range Finder. It's not one of those tons of camera and gear reviews magazines. There are some nice articles in there. It show some nice shots and then an interview with the photographer and how they got the shot. This months B&W issue is pretty nice. GL!

I get Nat Geo and Arizona Highways. Only negative about Nat Geo is it's packed with ads, but it's cheap. I got a year for only $15. AH is a little more expensive, I think I paid $24 for a year.

The latest Arizona Highways (Feb.) has landscape work in there from Randy Prentice and Jack Dykinga. I've only briefly looked at it, but it's quite stunning.

I've been getting both for years...highly recommended! I was thinking about getting an actual photography mag recently, but they're usually gear-oriented.
