Female Grosbeak, Goldfinch, Indigo Bunting

Here are a couple shots from today. The Goldfinch was around all year but the Female Rose Breasted Grosbeak just got back with her man and a couple young ones and the Indigo Bunting is brand spankin' new!

Nice shots. The blue one is ... um ... *VERY* blue! Is it bad that it reminds me of Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? "Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!"

Fat. Fluffy. Detailed. Bright.

That Indigo Bunting is WAY cool. I saw him for the first time a few days ago and almost couldn't believe my eyes, when he gets into the sun he is almost as blue as the goldfinches are yellow. I have never seen one in our area and after I posted it on FB others from the area are saying they have their first pair also, when not mating they travel in flocks and when mating they pair off and the fellas turn this gorgeous blue. I can't wait to get more shots of him, he's amazing!!
