I can vouch for the Canon Ftb and AE-1.

I would get the AE-1 out of those two though.

But both amazing cameras.

I picked up a Fed with a lens for $12.00 on E-bay a couple years ago. It works but I can't persuade my wife to carry it for me. It sure is heavy.

Find a college that has crossed over into the 21st century along with photography and will teach you using your T2i which does provide full manual control.

I use the Nikon F100. You can pick it up for pretty cheap these days. Definitely a good 35mm camera to have.
