hi gang

i was trying to unload a finished roll of film from my camera..i pressed the
botton on the botton to release the film and as i crank it i noted it seemed
to be getting harder to spin...so in order to avoid damageing my camera i
just opened up its back and removed the film manuelly thus ruining the fi
-lm in the process..is there yet another way to remove the film than this way?thanks.

Hard to say. Sounds like the rewind release button is failing to release. Did you push it in all the way? What camera?

In a dark, dark area, as in pitch black.

When you say "harder to spin", do you mean it would no longer turn? 'Cause there is some tension involved.

I'm not a repairman, and I don't have any experience with the problem. I suppose you could try, with the lens cap on, and in manual mode, advancing the film and releasing the shutter again. I'd try anything short of banging it against the wall. It sounds like the gears locked up, or maybe a screw worked loose and jammed up the works.

Now that you have an exposed roll of film to use as a test roll, load it back in n and see what the problem is?
