filter placement

hey everyone,

I just got a filter and lens set for my sony cyber shot h-7. The filters aren't big enough to fit over the wide lens that came with the set. They also create a vignette. Vignette aside, should I get new filters that fit over the end of the conversion lens? Does it change the focal point when the filters are set behind a conversion (or any?) lens?

If it took my camera off the wide-angle lens setting, I can zoom in past the vignette. Does this defeat the purpose of the wide-angle lens?

IMO
#1 it is better if the filter is at the end (closest to the outside)
#2 vignettes are liked by some especially if you make it seem you intentionally gave it a vignette
#3 I think you should get another (bigger filter)
#4. I don't know what the out come is when a filter is placed behind the conversion lens
#5 It does defeats the purpose of using a wide-angle lens if you are going to zoom in (I rally don't see the reason behind using the lens then - but if you have to, you have to :er
