I'm getting teary-eyed all over again thinking the meetup pics will soon be coming to an end....

Awww, no need to cry. I still got plenty! None as good as the ones shown, but ... there are still quite some in store.

And I must repair that thing about the Hamburg photos...! Not tonight though, it is late.

It's odd about your Hamburg pics, as they were showing up previously.

I too have more pics, which will be posted bit by bit as I find the time.

I’m just getting to my Hamburg shots, lot still to come

I wanna go on the next meet-up!! Please, please, please. Pick me...pick me...

I don't snore (that I've heard). I won't be the oldest, I won't be the youngest, I'll be just right. I won't be the drunkest.....hold that thought for a year. I promise to fart only in my own company (unless there is a competition and money at stake). I don't even care that I might be the only Nikon shooter. :lmao:

Just out of curiosity, does anyone take and use a tripod on these adventures? Some of these shots are amazing and if they're all hand held, I gotta get my skills in order.

More photos please.

Ok, I've been following this thread TOO closely.

I just laid down for a short 6 hour nap this afternoon, and I DREAMT about being in Germany with you guys! No joke!

Wow, guys. Wow. I'm really disappointed that I missed this meet-up. Next time.

A very straightforward (i.e. totally uninspired) photo of why we stopped at that cemetery with the "ferocious dog" on the way from Lüneburg to Schneverdingen:

It was because of the way this little church is situated on this little hill, and because of the fact that it looked nice, though the sun had been better in the morning, when only Heike and Anty stopped to take pics, so Anty should have the best photos of church and cemetery, after all.

And now: carriage ride though Lüneburg Heath out of Schneverdingen, and Sky is wondering why our driver had a funny hat like this!

The vicious blackmail camera was aimed RIGHT at me at some point :raisedbrow: ...

Here's a (falsified  ) pic of what was around us, i.e. the heath, and what's been faked here?

Soon, his musing over why a man must wear a hat like the one our driver was wearing became too much for our youngster and he fell asleep during our bumpy ride.

Anty easily stayed wide awake all the while and may even have enjoyed herself

And Alex took some marvellous wide angle photos from the rear of the carriage which can be admired in this very thread, too!

And when he wasn't filming, Hertz just looked on and looked reasonably content - happy would be too big a word, though ;)

Any of the photos I took during our picnic in the woods are super boring, so I am happy to report that I've arrived at the Bremen photos now. Next post.

Wednesday, 28 May. Bremen.

In "Fobi", my preferred camera shop, someone apparently tried, but tried in vain, to spell "Photoforum" right ...

Well, it is Germany, the title of the magazin is German, so they are forgiven... ;)

Some detail from the side of Bremen Rathaus (which, together with the Roland statue on the market square, is a World Heritage Sight)

Has anyone (maybe) only for once (tried to) photograph(ed) the entire Rathaus from the front? The light wasn't with us, I know, but has anyone tried?

Just a small part of Rathaus, and half of Roland, the Giant, many tourists (very many seemed to have arrived at Bremen by bicycle on that day!!!) and "Beck's am Markt", a very nice bistro (for next time you get to Bremen!).

Inside Bremer Dom (the cathedral to the right of Rathaus), where my choir's going to perform on 19 June from the very balcony you can see (partly hidden by the chandeliers).

Has anyone else been inside it?

Daan has zoned himself out a little (while waiting for the guided tour through Rathaus to start - and to book a guided tour is the ONLY way to get in there, and since I'd never been, I had thought that the meet-up might be my big chance... ;))

Jeff, also waiting

The guide gave a lot of historical detail, both in German AND in English, but the TPF crowd was more fascinated by other things, such as those neatly arranged coffee cups (for a reception to begin shortly after our group would have left), and the precisely placed spoon on each saucer!
2552802813_e58b5a7d89_o.jpg

Well, I had a little play with the mirror behind the cups...
2553272540_776ec95b01_o.jpg

... or with other mirrors, for that matter.
2552802981_24da6fee73_o.jpg

Other TPF group members were interested in other things (and thus produced wonderful photos, much more inspired than mine could ever be!)
2553272718_e252c51872_o.jpg

And while some suffered through all the explanations and historical facts...
2552452387_60522e69d1_o.jpg

2552452553_6ee0695100_o.jpg

...others ventured into "forbidden territory" (!!!) in order to further their photographic results to take home with (and hopefully share here!).

(Boy, has the quality of the pics deteriorated through the upload into Flickr ... )

One last group photo taken by Christiane (and we doenoe where doenoe had gone to  ???) and the group was (almost) free for the rest of the day (after lunch in Ratskeller, the vaults underneath the Rathaus).

2553624020_fcc907b60c_o.jpg

(And believe me: this photo's a lot sharper when viewed on my computer directly than shows here, too, I am actually quite a bit upset over the fact that they show so badly.)
