First attempt Northern Lights

did a search yep i know what your talking about now, going to order a calibrator as its obvious my monitor is no where close to displaying to what the photo actually is etc. Its way way over saturated, too bright etc etc.

There are several consumer grade models that run in the $100-$200 range. Fairly simple to install and run.

Well for now i worked on changing the monitor to match what i am printing. I was able to adjust RGB separately and brightness settings... and low and behold what i see is what i am printing. Maybe not dead on but close enough. I almost hate using the monitor now as it seems so dull etc but you can certainly see what it was exaggerating. Likely is great for gaming but certainly wasn't good for photos. Now i realize damn near every photo i have i have edited incorrectly with low exposure etc. Oh well live and learn. I have the "Raw" files saved for all of them so for any i want to print i can always reprocess it.

Data color makes calibration software and hardware.

You did a great job capturing the pillars and the movement of the lights! Wasn’t it amazing to see? I hope we get another opportunity before it gets to freezing temps.

Adjust them to what?? Calibration software/hardware adjusts the RGB to the IEC 61966-2-1:1999 standard. That means every device including those displaying sRGB should look the same. Adjusting on the fly doesn't mean others will see what you see on your monitor.

As to the ones you've already edited, the more reputable labs offer color correction for an extra fee.
