Canon XSi with 18-55mm IS (Standard Lens) @55mm.
Mounted with my macro extension tube plus a reverse lens.
Incredibly difficult to actually focus what you're really trying to focus on...
Could of went more macro, but then you wouldn't know that this is a window key button.

You guys have any suggestions or tips what to take a macro picture of in the house? None of the stuff I found was interesting enough to take a picture of that is macro.

It's OK to experiment with what you have. The kit lens is not really the kind of thing to get serious with. Get the 60mm or 100mm macro.

For macro, you can find things in the oddest of places. You want to shoot something few people have seen. The nooks and crannies of things can have that. For example, between the threads of a small pipe. Or look for patterns in things. Going extreme macro is not always where you get good images. Play with the focus. Use a tripod and stack the focus and post process it to widen the depth of field, but still leave parts well out of focus. Focus the image to focus the viewer's eye and highlight something.

Are you using a tripod?
