First Cattle Egret

This was the first time I'd ever seen a Cattle Egret. Rather rare sighting here in Massachusetts. I was surprised how small it was and how easily it was scared away.

Nice find! They are pretty rare in the NE. I saw my first one last year in CT. Even have the breeding plumage going on!

Good shots. They are very abundant on Delmarva. More common than the other two "white " Egrets. I didn't realize they don't travel much further north than here.
