Got my ups delivery yesterday, and grabbed these between 5:30pm and sundown yesterday so still getting my bearings. Pretty pleased so far. On #1 the light is a bit unkind and the bluejay is WAY cropped so the lens is resolving nicely. Missed focus slightly on the starling, but included anyhow. Took the shot of the moon prior to sundown and darkened in post.

Sure brought that moon up close!

Softened this one up in post

they all look softened in post.
Hmm- well I'm more typically guilty of over-sharpening, so perhaps I've overcompensated OR maybe not a great copy of this lens OR maybe focusing errors (I know I missed on the starling).

Food for thought and experiment. Thanks- I'll take a look

OK- just took another shot of the same flower (different angle to get sun at my back). Changed focus mode on camera to single point (was on the 39 point mode).

. This is SOOC except converted from NEF to JPG to post. Soft? I fear I've no objectivity on the subject since I would prefer the hassle of returning to B&H, if possible...

I've had mine for about a month. Couldn't be happier. I haven't tried to shoot the moon yet, but yours looks good to me.

Thank you for sharing the information about the 200-500 mm lens.
