First HDR C&C please

There was a flood where I live overnight so I decided to create a HDR. C&C please. I'm new to both lightroom and photomatix.
I used: Lightroom, cs5, photomatix pro
I'll upload a b&w and color version science I couldn't decide on one.

They dont look like HDR but rather just underexposed images. The shadows have no detail.

I wouldn't expect to see such dark shadows (1:1:1 and 0:0:0) and blown-out highlights (255:255:255 and 254:254:254) in an HDR.

Also, I might have the wrong idea of HDR can anyone recommend a tutorial, preferable on youtube that is good (using photomatix pro).

Its because it wasent true hdr. I edited the exposures in photoshop, i just caught my mistake *facepalm*
