Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi guys,

I am new to photography and very new to macro photography. This was one of the very first macro images I took. I know it lacks background interest and is a little blurry in some parts but I was hoping for some more meaningful feedback. The first image is the original and the second image is one I attempted to edit (keyword here being attempted).

The camera settings were as follows:

S: 1/60
A: F/13
ISO: 800
Focal: 90mm
White Balance: Auto
and there was no exposure compensation (not that I really know what that means).

Thanks!

The biggest issue I see is your light source is cut off, presumably by the lens, creating a huge shadow across the bottom.

Try some rule of thirds and getting lower. A lot of the same techniques that are good for people portraits are good for insect portraits. And I mean getting on eye level by getting lower with the subject. Even for for insect portraits we need see the eyes in focus.
