I like the idea. However, I think that your DOF is too wide so the picture seems really busy. That and the fact the flower is centered exactly, I feel take away from the picture. It's a great start so keep em coming.

I like it in color, but I think it'd be really vibrant if you had the flower in color and the rest in B&W if you were up to it. Great photo. Someone recommended a photo of mine be cropped so it's not so much the exact center of attention, so maybe you could try the same and crop a little to the left of the flower and more toward the right for the sides? Just a suggestion or two.

Thanks for your feedback. I also saw one of those b/w pictures with only one object in color. I have not and will not use photoshop for this picture, but I will in future ones. I took tons of pictures this summer; now I'm busy sorting them and finding the best ones.
