First Post Please C&C

I just recently purchased my first DSLR and have been trying to learn. I love taking nature pictures and also action shots of my kids playing sports. I have finally got the nerve to post and wanted to get a C&C on this. I have done some croping and PP but I would like to know how I can get better. Thanks for your time.

The background kind of looks too bright in spots.
Maybe that's just me haha i'm not sure.

The subject flower is overwhelmed by the brightness of the background, some fill light on the subject would have benefited well here. Composition and focus are ok.

I like the composition, but the flower seems underexposed. You can try your pop up flash (if that's all you have) for a little fill if needed. Worth a shot.

While the pop up is pretty useless for a lot of things, it does fill flash really well outdoors.
