First Round of B&W - C&C if you'd like

Ya know bitter is right!

I gotta say one thing I really do like about these photos. You guys struggled thru the processing development of your photos I gotta say it gives me that old world feel. Like the old b&w photos ive found in my grandparents house. I find the rough texture intriguing. I know it's nothing you guys Want me it does look cool for an accident lol

The first shot has an awkward pole hanging out in the top right corner. I would remove that. A few are a bit oof but it really doesnt ruin them considering the subject matter. They look like old photos. And dont get hung up on editing photos. This is the beauty of digital photography. If you really want to pursue a purist form i would suggest getting a fully manual slr. You can get one very cheap off ebay. It really helps hone your skills.

Please let me know how I can make my next pictures better WITHOUT edits .
That is not really possible. Every photograph is edited in some way, even if the only edit you do is choosing between different brands of B&W film.

Shooting film, you can pre-process your images for more control of contrast and density by putting different colored filters on the front of the lens.

Who is doing the film developing?

My dad and I are developing at home

Hmm, I have to say ... you have a better "eye" than your Dad.

#3 really shows a nice repetition of form.

I try NOT to edit my images (film or digital).

number 3 AND number 5.
thumbs up.

You're kicking the ole mans ass pretty good.
He's gonna have to step up his game. lol

... don't tell your Dad what I said ... though he might just read it on this thread :er:

Hahahaha! You did better than your Dad! Better tell him to step it up so that he can keep up with ya :)

I love #3 and #4, wouldn't change anything on those two. Shot #1 - I agree with the earlier comment about that random pole at the top right corner. Shot #2 I like alot, but IMO you need a bit more space above and a bit less ground. And #5 looks a bit out of focus, but that might be the scanner.

As for helping you cut down on the amount of post editing you need to do - that will come as you improve in your neg developing skills.

Well done to you (and of course to your Dad too) all around!!

I think some have forgotten the "Film" part ... not all images are Digitally captured first.
