Finally took the plunge into the DSLR world with an Olympus Evolt 500.

After messing around a little just to kinda get to know the camera, I was itching to take it into the field and try a few things.

The following images are with no adjustments, just using the stock pre-ptogramed modes and, hand held. I have to say that I am pretty pleased with the results at this stage. But then again I have never been able to resist a "dark and stormy day".

Criticism is always appreciated ... though not always accepted.

#1 post production is a bit odd....too much....alot overdone.

#2 it works a little better, but too much, you can still get that dark feeling even if it was a little brighter.

Thanks ... I kind of agree with you. I've been away from shooting for about ten years. The switch from film to digital is kind of complex.

When I used to shoot film, my prefered film was Velvia. I gues I'm trying to head that direction again. But like the man said "all things in moderation"

Thanks
