Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok guys, I have lots of pics to show. Feedback is DEFINITELY welcome. I love to know what I'm doing right and doing wrong. I've been told by a few that I have a natural eye for photography and know what makes good pictures, but they tell me that I just need a little practice, and a better understanding of composition and rule of thirds and a bunch of other stuff...

So...let me know what you think!

Here's my Flickr. There's only about 2 pages, so you shouldn't have to go out of your way too much. If you're going to give feedback maybe posting a thumbnail of which one you're talking about would be helpful.

Thanks a lot for any help or directions you can give me. Whether post processing or "at the camera" related.

Well, I'm just going to list the ones I like and I think are very good:

These are the ones that I think have the best in focus, composition and color.
Hope that helps... :)

Those were actually some of the ones I liked better as well. Any feedback is good, so thank you so much.

Anything else to add from others would be very helpful. I'm going to school for this in a year, so the more I hear from you guys the more I'll be prepared when that time comes.

I realize you guys are some of the laziest forum goers I've ever met in my life and dont' like clicking on links...but would you help a new guy out? I just want some general feedback on a few photos...it's not like there's 400...

I'm trying not to come off as demanding, but when everyone's looked through the thread and nobody has replied with even a simple answer, it makes me wonder...

cool pics

FYI if you want people to reply and know we dont like clicking on links then just get the image code and post it on here so we dont have to click on the links

You HAVE a good eye!
And you focus well.

But this one here

... I take for your weakest. While I am not all against negative space, I feel there is too much of it here. As if your camera kind of slipped while you were taking the photo...

But on the other hand, lightwise I am all taken in by this one:

Though I do admit that light WAS difficult at the time and you get a lot of shadow areas along with on-the-brink-to-be-burnt areas, but I still like this one!

And I see that you have already learned that for night time photography you best choose a SMALL aperture so your light sources don't become big, bright blobs! GOOD!

I see no problem with trying to break your habits. I am a frequenter of another forum, and they go out of their way to help no matter how many links they have to click or hoops they have to jump through. Those that genuinely care about the art will take the .5 seconds it takes to click on a link and give me feedback. I'm not trying to argue, but it is a ridiculous tradition of this forum.

ahh. Thank you for taking your time to look. I actually agree with you on both occasions. The flowers are my least favourite, (explanation: There is a roof right under the picture and it ruined the shot completely if I put any of it in because my neighbours house is ugly) and the kid is one of my favourites. This is the type of feedback I'm looking for.

Any more constructive criticism or comments would be highly appreciated from whoever may offer it.

You have a lot of nice shots already. I believe that possibly one of the reasons you aren't getting a ton of feedback is that there are probably a lot of newbie photographers on here (such as myself) that love to admire other people's work, but don't always have something construction to add. Just my opinion..... keep doing what you're doing and learn about what you need to work on.

well, you come off a bit demaning ;)

Anyway, we are in a sort of summer hole and ther eis less people commenting than usual. And images which are just links are traditionally those with the least replies.

It is very difficult to reference to single images if they come only as one link... usually you can be more lucky if you link to a couple of images individually and not to a whole bunch of them.

There are some good ones on your page I think. In terms of light I like the very first one the most ... it is by far the best in my eyes.

And you are one of the laziest posters on the forum - if it's too much trouble for you to post your pics, then don't expect people to go to great lengths to look at them.

Thanks for all the help.

Think of it this way. It takes me 5 minutes to link all the pictures...it takes you .5 seconds to click a link...

I think I proved my point. Is it really that difficult for someone to help a new guy out with his first general post?

I mean...from now on...if I get a nice set that I want feedback on..sure, I'll post them on the forum itself, but since I'm just asking for general advice on the photos on my flickr so far I see no problem asking for you to quickly look over it and tell me what you think.

Thank you to all the people who commented as I requested.

how can you expect people to invest more than 5 seconds of thought regarding your images if you are not willing to invest more than 5 seconds of work to link them? This is a place of give and take, mate.

This last sentence makes me rather angry.

This is not the service department, where you can request images and people have to comment. I do comment when I have the time, feel qualified or feel like I want to comment anyway. But I do not comment on demand.

You can push around people in a friendly/funny way ... but if this is done with such serious wording, as if you felt offended because you did not get many replies ... well I will stop now before I get rude myself.

Surely you could have spent the five minutes linking them rather than the 22 hours of anxiety waiting for people to click through, then criticising everyone else for being lazy.

I think you'll find my point has been proved ;)

ok well I guess I should take this opportunity to apologize. Things have been taken the wrong way and now things are going the wrong way.

I didn't mean to upset anyone. From now on I will just post the images. But, since we're on the subject...is there any easier way to post 10 images at once? Like...is there a host that lets you copy the tags of 10 photos or a set or somethng? Thanks guys.
