First try from C&C and a question

This is my first attempt at an HDR. Single shot taken in RAW. I was cautious about overdoing the sky by still wanted to show the cloudy day instead of the blown out sky I got to start with.

Also, anyone have any advice on how to bring out the color of the sky in such a way to match the landscape and not be too overwhelming or mis-colored?

If possible, as in the photo here, if you can separate the sky from the land then treat each part separately. When you get the sky the way you want it then put them back together.
