Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Fujifilm X-M1 and I expected outstanding image quality. the pack includes a body made in Thailand and a kit lens made in China.
Unfortunately, the image quality, especially in terms of sharpness and focus accuracy is not very good.
I took several photos by my new X-M1 and old X-S1, both indoors and outdoors. The result shows: While X-M1 has higher resolution, when it come to the preciseness of focus and sharpness, it falls behind X-S1.
Is it because of the low quality lens? I mean should I change that lens and buy a made-in-Japan 18-50mm? Or is it because the body is made in Thailand?!! I mean I never believed a mirrorless camera with such a large sensor would produce disappointing images.
The first photo is taken by X-M1 (setting = SR+). The second is taken by X-S1 (setting = EXR) at the same time and same place:
