Gin and Tonic Lit from the side with 1 spotlight. shot with an e420 with Mamiya 55mm f1.8.

Salmon with Spicy Orange and Tangerine glaze over steamed veggies with soy sauce. shot with an e420 with Mamiya 55mm f1.8 with natural light.

1. Seems nice, but the way you angled the shot is weird, first you need to tilt it counter clock wise by like .5 degrees and i would have left more room on the bottom than the top.

2. It would have came out nice if the salmon wasn't out of focus

I like the first shot, the second I would have used a tripod and a smaller aperture.

Yeah I shot wide open on the second pic, I don't think it's out of focus, it just has really narrow DOF. The Mamiya lens is a soft portrait lens with a big aperture. It's sharpest at like f5.6 (and still not very sharp). I like it though.
