Footpath in the park, opinions?

Hi everyone, I quite like this image though I'm not sure on how to edit it and am asking for your opinions, be honest

The settings I used are: F8, 1/500th sec, ISO 400, and 55mm focal length.

The edited version I've added more contrast and a Infrared filter to it.

I find the original better, beautiful picture!

I think the original is a much more interesting picture. In both versions I'd try to lighten the darks a bit to add a little detail.
