Hi,

I hope this is the best place to post this, if not please let me know.

When you shoot a photo it's of a certain aspect ratio. When you post that photo (IE: smugbug) it gives the viewer the option of standard sizes (4x6 etc).

How do you deal with the clipping that is inherent in this situation? Do you manually size/ratio your photos before posting so that there is no clipping?

For example, if you post a photo that has border effects, any clipping will mess that up.

Is there a program that makes it easier to create standard sizes from an original? IE: Photoshop plug-in?

Thanks for your help!

Johnathon

Use the crop tool in Photoshop. Set the aspect ratio for the ratio you want, that way you control what gets cut off.

There are no 'standard' photo sizes. Some sizes are more common than others but.......

Many shooters just 'shoot fat' to allow for different aspect ratio crops.

the standard photo size is not sure, but if you really think the photo size is too large, you can crop it, or you can resize it.
