Went by a huge antique shop today just to peruse and found this little package for $115. Seemed too good (even though I don't even own an Olympus OM-1 lol)

Canon FD 50mm f/1.8

Olympus G.Zuiko 28mm f/3.5

Olympus Zuiko Auto-Zoom 75-150 f/4

Dunno what your gonna do with the Oly lenses ... except maybe buy an Oly ...

Haha yeah I've been looking on Ebay. The bodies by themselves are pretty cheap!

Right now I've been playing with the A-1 and I have to say I am very impressed by the complexity of this camera especially considering its functions are a mix of mechanical and electrical analog (as opposed to the digital LCDs and computers in modern cameras.)

They fit so many features in this camera including one of the first versions of auto exposure.

It's really cool.

A guy is considering to sell his Canon A1.... he'll give me the camera to try first, so I'm interested in your experience

Dunno if you have any development stuff. If you don't, and want to develop some B&W, PM me. No darkroom, but a changing bag, tank, reels, et al.

Well, you *could* mount the Oly lenses to the Canon body...

The Canon flange distance is 42mm (for the FD mount). The Olympus mount is 46mm. This theoretically allows for a thin adapter ring if you could find such a thing... Or you could remove the mount ring off the Oly lenses and replace it with a Nikon mount (which does exist) and then get a Nikon-F to Canon FD converter (which does exist)...

These would be cheaper than buying an Olympus body, but you'd really have to want to use those lenses... :)

Nice! I would budget in an extra $5 to get some fresh seals of ebay. They are easy to replace at home and make a big difference with light leaks.

Congratulations on the excellent find!

I got an Olympus OM-1n this past February and I really do enjoy it. It blows my mind that the OM line was introduced at the same time that my Canon F-1 was manufactured (early 1970s). It's like 1/2 the size! I don't have to prep myself at the gym in order to go out on a photo shoot.

I'm so taken with it that I bought another OM-1n this morning at an estate sale despite it's less than great condition. Once I get it fixed up I can double hip, color on one side, B&W on the other, and still carry less weight than the F-1.

The moral of this post is, put some thought into a Oly. The OM-1n is pretty ubiquitous and is built like a tank. A tiny tank.
