Nice nice. Finally a nature photographer who does things the old fashioned way. ND Grad filter rather than ugly HDR exposures!

Are you sure about the non-HDR? I felt he did some excellent minimal HDR-type of effects. I am FAR from an expert, though.

Hmmm...I doubt those were all done with filters...there are some pretty complex light variations here, and there was some type of post-processing going on to get it all exposed properly.

One thing we have to be aware of, just because Photomatix can be used to create what some view as "ugly" images, if you just use the default settings, ti produces completely accurate and realistic images that are beautiful and natural.

I will get some of my images together later and show them.
