I'm really blessed to have an absolutely amazing camera shop near me. They have hundreds and hundreds of film cameras, lenses, bodies, and any accessory you could possibly name, in about every format imaginable. The best part, they're all unbelievably cheap (especially the MF and LF ones). I've posted a little about this in some unrelated threads, but I figured it should have one of its own. Their prices at the very least rival anything on eBay, and most of the time are far cheaper (in MF and LF, by several hundred bucks!). They've been in business forever and are extremely reliable. So, to anyone who's looking for a film camera at a great price, I'm offering my liaison services free of charge, because I know that most of us are on a budget, and I'd like to help out.

So name a camera, lens, or accessory, and I'll hook you up for no extra cash if they've got it.

Oh..and Mitica they do have collectables in pristine condition :)

Sounds like a great place. Maybe they'd like to advertise here on TPF. You should check with Hobbes or Chase; we might could steer some business their way!

It's a wonderful store, however their website just plain sucks and has maybe 1/1000th of their actual inventory on it.

Do they have any screwmount lenses ( Asahi-Kogaku. 37mm ) for the Asahiflex? ~Not~ to be confused with the M42 screwmounts that were adopted by the Pentax Spotmatics?

I'll have a look tomorrow and get back to you.

The reason they don't have any, as I was told, is probably the same reason that you're looking for them. They're very rare items. Sorry :(

I'm sure they probably do. There are tons of pentacon mount lenses on the planet. I'll stop by tomorrow and make a list of what they've got (assuming they have some. If they don't, I'll be very disappointed and relatively embarassed :) )

Yes.. they are pretty rare finds. Thanks for looking anyways. I'm lucky enough to have a functional Asahiflex IIB with the standard lens.

That would be great, and just to be clear we're talking about PentaCON, not PentaX--it's russian, and not kiev.

I'm pretty well-versed in Soviet and German MF cameras. The Pentacon Six is notorious probably for being the best of the bundle. I had been researching them all a while back, and never ended up buying any of them because the only ones I could find online were either overpriced semi-refurbished ones, or from ukrainian sellers on eBay. This shop, however, does have a few of them in perfect working order if I recall, so hopefully they should have some lenses.

Sweet, sorry, I wasn't sure if you knew or not. Most people blow past the "con" and think "tax."

LOL!

I have bad news :( . Apparently they refuse to stock the pentacon six or its lenses because they don't sell. They said they had a full outfit, a pentacon with metering prism and 3 or 4 lenses, all for $200, and it sat there for 2 years. They eventually had to sell it all on ebay because nobody bought it.

I suppose at this point I should clarify that the majority of their camera inventory is 35mm, MF, and 4x5. They do, however, have lots and lots of accessories for a lot of different cameras, as well as a number of 8x10 lenses.

Their biggest 35mm camera and lens selection is Nikon and Canon, though they do have some Pentax, Minolta, and Leica cameras and lenses, as well as some older metal-body 35's.

Their MF camera selection is quite good, with a number of Mamiya, Bronica, Pentax, and Fuji 6x7's and 645's for very very good prices. They also have quite a few Hasselblad outfits, and a Kiev Blad-copy or two.

In the 4x5 department, they have some older speed and century graphics for moderate prices, though the real steals are their view cameras, starting at $350 in immaculate condition with lens.

For accessories, they have a wide range of backs, darkslides, winders, etc, and a huge number of flashes. They also have tons of filters, hoods, and step-rings. Hoods are about a dollar. Filters rarely break 10 bucks (most of them are Hoya).

could you check and see if they ahve the Rebel XT (350D) w/ Kit Lense
