Front of camera doesn't open all the way.

It used to happen only occasionally, but now it happens every time I turn on the camera. The part that protects the lens only opens half-way. If I just give the part a slight tap or nudge it opens the rest of the way easily. I'm not sure if a piece of dirt or something got in there or if it somehow got slightly misshaped... Anyone know of how to fix something like this? Or how much someone might charge to fix it? Thanks...
