It is a Nikon mount, and will fit on FujiFilm S2 Pro, S3, S5, and pretty much all digital Nikon cameras and most of Nikon film cameras. It is a non-AFS lense. It is in pretty much perfect shape, no scratches, moisture, or fungus on the lenses (front and back). It comes with a UV filter, circular polarizer, front and back lense caps, and a sun hood. The lens was made in Japan. I'm shooting mostly landscape pictures now, so I don't really need this lense anymore. The retail price for this is about $400 without the UV filter and circular polarizer. I'm asking for $250 shipped.

The Tamron SP AF 28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro is a general purpose lens for both digital and film cameras. On a film camera the 28-300mm range covers everything from landscapes through portraits to wildlife. On a typical APS-C digital camera, it has the same field of view as a 45-480mm lens would on a full frame 35mm camera.

The Tamron SP AF28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro is a Tamron "Di" lens. Di lenses designed with digital SLRs in mind and Tamron say that they have higher resolution, better control of flare and ghosting, less light fall-off and lower chromatic aberration than earlier designs. Note that the Tamron SP AF28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens, although designated as digital ("Di") has full frame 35mm coverage. It can be used both on APS-C sensor DSLRs and on full frame digital or film cameras.

The Tamron SP AF28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro is remarkably small and light for a 28-300mm lens. In fact Tamron state that it's currently the world's smallest and lightest 28-300mm zoom.

This lense won't auto focus on your D40 because that camera doesn't have a built-in AF motor. As far as I know, the D40 requires AF-S lenses for it to auto focus and this lense is not AF-S. I don't have any other comparable lenses to compare the auto focus, so I can't tell you if it's fast or slow (I hope that's what you meant).

Yes, I am aware that it won't AF on my D40, but the D40 will still show the focus confirmation indicator, which relies on the same focus system as the AF does. Additionally, I have an AF film body coming in the mail.

Oh, okay. I just want to make sure that we're clear on that just in case you were expecting something else then to get something completely different in the mail. :)
