Fuji FinePix S5200 or Canon S2 IS

I wish to buy an advanced point and shoot digital camera under 400$.
I think I narrowed it to these 2 cameras. I'd be happy for advice on this.

I never owned a canon but did try out a couple of fuji back when I was testing digital for my son in law. The fuji is a fine camera and I have seen some shots from the 5200 that are very nice.

For my money the panasonic is the best of the high end p&s had great glass. Just an opinion and I have no idea what the pana costs.

I actually thought of getting a Panasonic, but they don't have an agent in my country in case it needs fixing.

ah then stay with the repairable ones. Lots of things to go wrong in modern cameras...

Looking at the side by side comparison, they are almost the same with the canon having only a few extra options.

Looks like it is going to come down to personal preference.
