Geotagging w/ iPhone 3G and DSLR?

I've ended up killing my first generation iPhone this week... Long story there... Replaced it with one of the 3G iPhones... Is anyone using it for geotagging their photos? If so, what applications are you using and how difficult is it? I know I can tag my photo manually, but I a huge fan of automation...

Is there a way using the iPhone to capture the points/data and merry them up to my Canon DSLR shots?
