why don't you try to take a 'perfectly focused' picture of a 4 year old zooming around in low light and get back with me.

how about a 2 year old. it's super easy with a flash.

Can you clarify, are you holding up the shots of the little girl in the link as examples of how to take a good portrait photo? You posted those on mwcfarms thread for her strobe work and now here. Your shots are nice pics, documenting your daughter at age two, but they are not examples to hold up against what the OP is trying to do with setting and mood.
