What's new

ghost

The photography trickery part
Some look manipulated. Some look contrived (staged). Some contain 'continuity errors' - the light/shadow on the ghost doesn't match the light/shadow patterns of the scene. Some seem to be due to lightleaks, motion blur, pareidolia..those are the delusional sort, imo. The "group photo, including the guy that died the day before; from fifty years ago" - I'm unconvinced...especially the wartime ones when people get moved around ad hoc, get killed, the wrong dates later get scribbled on the back of the print.. etc.

What do you think about ghost photos?

My sister and her husband has been saying that their house has ghosts for years. They say that sometimes they see a kid walking through the house, things moving and things breaking in the basement for no reason etc. Anyways, i told them i would come with my camera and go through the house and take a few shots. Mostly i just pointed the camera to different places in the rooms, hallway and kitchen and hit the shutter button. I came home and put my card in the computer and started going through them, deleting as i went and then i came to this photo and i pretty much frooze in my chair. After a few secs i got up and went outside to kinda grasp what i just saw and to get someone to come in and look at it. I was actually kinda afraid to come back in the house by myself. I'ts like whatever was on the photo was shaking hands with me or wanted to shake hands. The next morning when i woke i was giving this some deep thought of what this could be and i'm a pretty tough guy but i actually cried before getting out of bed thinking that this was something that wanted to shake my hands or something. It had me freaked. Anyways, here's the photo and i have no idea how this arm got on the photo...

First of all, there's doesn't seem to be any particular subject in the photo, so why is your friend taking this particular photo?

Secondly, this may be taken behind a glass, so reflection is possible.

Suposidly he is building a new house somewhere in the jersey shore area and was takin pictures of prgress as je went along and this was one of the pictures

Agreed! Only one person so far has come up with a questionable story amd photo!!!!!!!

Oh, it was "questionable" alright. Maybe there's a reason for the less-than-stellar results??? HHMMMM?

It looks like a topless man with long hair in front of the bottom (or left, if you tilt your head!) wooden post. It's either a double exposure or a trick of the light which your brain is interpreting as a figure
