Well maybe not man-eating, but it sure was man-pain-inflicting. I didn't realize
one of those things could actually draw blood by kicking you with those sharp,
point spiked legs. Surprised me really. Ouch.

Oh yeah... I wanted to also say that I am an idiot and I left the ISO at 400 because
I wasn't paying attention.

This is also my first use of the new Photoshop CS2 I just got. Was way different than
what I have been used to. Will be fun to figure out.

how big is the grasshopper in real life?

Thanks for the compliments y'all. I felt like an idiot getting the photo. A grown
man chasing a grasshopper around a live train yard, crawling around taking a
photo of a bug... Hehe. Bet it looked comical to quite a few people.

I should have tossed down a quarter for some scale. It was probably a good
4 to 5 inches in length. For all you Europeans out there... near 12.5 centimeters
long. This thing was huge.

No pictures of my bleeding finger. Sorry. :)

Haha yeah i bet we all have our own really awfully embarrasing moments.
Here in japan i get stared at even if i don't crawl around on the sidewalk searching for pikachu's, so imagine when i do.

whaa haven't seen such a huge grasshopper before, maybe i should go on a hunt myself, i hope i can find 100cm one, then i would take some really closeup pics and say that it was like 2cm big.

*i think the funniest thing with the pic is that it seems your head is reflected in the grasshoppers eye, looks like he's looking right at you.

He probably WAS looking at me. He was pretty irritated with me. :)
