Viewing from behind the camera, what side is your gimbal? Right or left and if possible, Why..

When I use mine, I have it to the left. My left hand rests on it and fingers to rotate the zoom.

I suggest using the side that works for you.

hey 99, what if both sides work for me? Then what do I do?

Then you quite worrying about it. As my grandma used to tell her granddaughters:
"Never sweat the petty things, and never pet the sweaty things."

Believe me 99, I'm not worrying about it. But I'm interested in what other people are doing in
hopes of learning something new.
No more clowns please.

FYI, I've found the gimbal/tripod setup useful only on limited circumstances.

If you are shooting from a distance and the subject matter moves across the field of view without much height.
As a subject gets higher you tilt the camera more upwards, which requires you to get down lower to keep viewing the viewfinder or LCD screen. If you have a tilt swivel LCD screen that is used instead of the viewfinder then you can use more up/down with a gimbal.

If you use the viewfinder all the time (which I mostly use it) then the gimbal only works in certain situations.
Also, if you move around a lot, you'll have to move around a tripod setup.

You could also use a monopod for more flexibility. But in my situation lifting up a gimbal/monopod to get a subject passing overhead is a problem.

So think about how you plan on using a Gimbal tripod/monopod setup too.
