Gimp Help!

I just downloaded Gimp and i am trying to load an image but for some reason its only loading a section of the image and i cant see the whole thing...is it because my picture size is to big or is there something that i need to select to show the whole image?

I've got GIMP but never use it but in checking it out I would try clicking on View then click on Zoom and there are options and one is to fit to window so I would play around with the View options.

That should only be an issue if you open a (new) blank canvas, and then open the image as a layer on that canvas. Even then, it would just be an issue of scaling the new layer to match the canvas.

If you just open an image, the canvas will be whatever size that image is.

If it's just zoomed in too far, there is a little box at the bottom that shows the zoom percentage. You can click on that and change it. Or just hold Ctrl down and roll your mouse wheel.
