Goats

OK I know that these aren't the greatest pics of all times, but mostly I thought the kid was cute and had a question on the other two. I haven't ever seen goats with their ears removed before, but this year at the Ft Worth stock show I saw at least a dozen without ears. Does anyone know why they do this? I grew up on a farm in the North, but haven't ever seen this before.

The little one was jumping all over and hard to keep up with. There were about a dozen week old kids in a 5x5 pen and they were all over the place. This one was by far the most lively. Two of the others kept butting heads, but I didn't get any good pictures of them. I am still trying to get used to my new camera and taking pictures. Someday I'll get it figured out, but until then I just need to think of better excuses for being out of focus.
