Going rate for catalogue photographs

Hi, bit of an odd request....

I have been asked to supply some incidental photos (ie. not of the actual goods, just filler ) for a sporting goods catalogue. Not sure how many they want but I know the print run will be 2000+ and distributed all over the UK.

What I need to know is what is the average rate people charge. Do you agree a 'one off fee' or a 'fee per catalogue printed' (if they want to print more / use in next years too)

The job was given to me by a friend of a friend, not because I am a top-flight published photographer (which I'm not!) I realise that I will not get £000's but a few beers out of it would be nice
