Golf Course for C&C

Here are a couple of my first landscape/golf course shots. I'd love some feedback on how I can improve. They were both shot handheld as I was playing a round of golf, but I really enjoy taking these kind of shots.

I wish I hadn't cut off the green in the second one, and it seems a little dark. Any other comments?

I would try and get some horizon on that first one.

That red stick in the second one is distracting.

I think that you need to get more foreground ... what a golfer see's is the green right in front of them, and then the yardage ahead. Vertical

Thanks for the feed back. I cropped the first one PP to give it more of a wide angle feel since I don't yet have a wider angle lens. I guess leaving the Mountains in the back would have given it more depth.

DXQ, I like the suggestion of going vertical. I'll try it next time I am out.

I take these shots while I am out playing a round of golf so don't use a tripod of have much time to set up. I like to try to capture what catches my eye while I am out there.

These are my first attempts at this type of shot.
