Good Buy for a beginner?

Yes, but I don't really know anything about the seller.

Check Reseller Ratings.
Their 6 month rating doesn't looks so good, but thier lifetime rating is OK.

Your call.

Personally, I would just buy it from B&H or Adorama.

Plus - their prices are in Canadian dollars, so I'm not really sure what that is is USD.
(B&H & Adorama ship to Canada, don't they? Not sure what kind of additional tariffs you might have to pay though...)

oh, i live in Canada tho. so its all good.

Yeah, I just meant that I don't know if that's a good deal or not.

I don't really have any concept of what $800CAD can buy.

When I replied "Yes", I meant that it would be a good kit to start out with. I don't know if the price is fair. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I think you can do better for $800. I would forget the D60 completely and find a D40 if you can. The D60 costs considerably more for something that has no useful additional features. The 55-200 non-VR is also not a very good lens.

Thats a load of crap. The D60 has some very useful features over the D40.
Active D-lighting
Faster Exspeed processor
4 extra MP for more cropping opportunities and larger printing options
Lower ISO performance for bright environments so you dont need a ND filter.
Sensor cleaning.
In camera RAW processing
Stop-motion options
Rotating LCD, and auto display off.
etc.

Dont buy into that Ken Rockwell garbage.
