Photos NOT OK to edit
IMG_3219 bw.jpg
I shot this photo using my Canon EOS 70D and its Canon EF-S10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens. This beautiful location is the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco. Any feedback is welcome :)

**Edit: Change the title from "Temptation" to "Gowns and Poses", hoping to correct the misunderstanding of the original title that this was meant to be primarily a sexy or seductive photograph.

Interesting lighting. She'd be more tempting if the cloth was shear. Also, her left arm detracts from the curve of her hip. It would have been sexier if her left hand was on her waist. By the way, did you win any money there?

Thanks Alan! I don't usually do this type of shots where you have to direct a model, so this feedback is useful to me.

And no, I did not win any money there.. It's actually much much smaller than I had expected so at least I ended up leaving before I had the chance to lose too much.

Tighter crop, open up your midtones significantly and knock down the brights after the midtone correction and you have a better image, but not one without the aforementioned issues. Her right arm is awkward with the placement of her hip which is seemingly thrust our for a reason though, that reason is not readily apparent. Next time you are presented with such a lighting situation, you might want to consider a 3-shot bracket.

This incarnation of the shot suffers a bit from the title that points to seduction. The very nice picture, only challenged in the geometry department is more of the architectural / location portrait kind.

I ask you do be more decicive on the direction of the shot:

Does the model provide additional value to the place or vice versa?

Then change the title and edit to make things clear without words.

All the best. Frank.

Thanks Frank, I do believe you're analysis is very accurate. I used the title as a pun on the "seductive" pose and the location being a casino, which is a place of temptations, which may have been less obvious than I had thought.

Will correct.
