Grackle and Blue Jay

I shot a couple of birds today. I tried to get them just before they landed on the tree. Didnt work.

They look rather soft, and the contrast and color seems diffused. Were these shot through a window maybe?

Buckster, picture 1 looks sharp and correctly exposed. I'm in your camp about picture #2, it looks diffused and a little soft. With that being said, I really the compositions and expressions of both birds. Great Bokeh in both pictures. Nicely done Brynx.

Good eye Buckster. They were shot through my balcony door where my bird feeder sits a couple feet from where I sit at my computer. Number 2 looks so diffused because the sun was causing a lot of shadow and I had to really work hard to bring out any detail on the right side of the bird.
