Gray market?

How would you know if a camera is a gray market version by looking at it?

Model number (ie Canon Digital Rebel in US, or 300D in the UK)

Measurements in metric instead of SAE

DIN instead of ISO (or in the old days ASA)

Um I think that is it visually. Basically, to make a long story short, grey market goods have no US warranty. Nuff said

Most importantly is the small print in the warranty. Can you get it fixed in the country you live in? Or do you have to send it half way around the world?
