Nice finds! Friendly birds ... they stay when you come!!!

How come I would think herons have long necks ... and one of these does, and the other is so short? No long neck at all!?!? Raymond had photos up here on water fowl he called "herons" (and I believe him when he calls them that!) and they looked so un-heron-like, too. Now I am confused.

Many birds have the capability of hiding their necks, i beleive that is all they are doing. look at birds when they sleep and when they are hunting, prime example. its just their position.
