This is another shot of a Green Palm Viper from Honduras. They are generally very secretive snakes spending much of their time in the jungle canopy. This one remained in the same spot near a river for two days so it was likely around a trail frequented by small mammals. Wish I had more than a few minutes to take more pics of it.

What a beautiful colour it is ("all the better to blend into the forest")! Do you know how long they grow? And how long was this one? It must be cool (but scary) to see these in the wild.

Adults can reach just over three feet which is probably about what this one would have stretched out to. I have wanted to see one of these in the wild since I was a little kid so it was quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever experienced.
