greeting from Thailand

Hi

My name is Rob, I'm from the UK but live in Bangkok Thailand.

I tried taking pics years ago, but the learning process on film was too much for my attention span, I need something that will tell me what I did as I have no inclination to write it down at the time.

About a year ago I bourght a Canon 30D with a 24-105 4L lens. The fun started immediately, I live in a country overflowing with great photo opportunities and Vietnam and cambodia just around the corner for good measure.

I like to take pictures and I also enjoy playing with them in Photoshop.

I'd love to post some here for honest critical comment. Things that are obvious to good photographers are news to me, I point at what I want to take, I only learned the rule of thirds recently.

As for rules in photography, there are none. There are just guidelines which work in some situations
