Hi all. I'm Paul. I live in Virginia, USA outside of Washington DC. I've been trying to teach myself photography and post work in Photoshop. Working in a vacuum can lead to not improving the craft and not learning from others.My newest project has been to shoot reenactments of the Civil War. I've been trying to go a step further and process them into "vintage" images of the era. There is not much information and all I can do is experiment until I get something that mimics the look I'm after. I'm hoping for comments and critiques and any leads to improve the process.
Next week is the sesquicentennial (150) anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas. There is a grand reenactment planned and I've been practicing to get the shots of camps, battles, and other related scenes. I even bought the Ken Burns PBS set of DVDs to study the scenes and shots or the day.
Any advice or critquites are always welcome.
