group of 100

I will be take portraits of a group of about 100 people. I am not sure what the best lens is to use with my Nikon D300. Can anyone help?

it all depends on how far you are from your group of 100..

where is this? church? open field? stadium?

I will be in a banquet hall Not super low not super high ceiling. I have a Nikon D300 I have a 20mm 2.8 lens and a 17-50mm 2.8
I will take srtobe lights for lighting. I thought I would put them in rows of 20 or 25. Set depth of field at f11.
