My kids will never be still or cooperative enough to let me snap them....the dog is always willing....The 2nd one seems a little grainy - taken with my Minolta Maxxum and he was laying in the mist from the water hose.

They are Beautiful, you got good shots. Yes, taking pics of the pups is a challenge, sometimes you are just so focused on the dog and hurried that you don't even notice the background. I have taken some shots that turned out real nice but, usually something in the background that is very difficult to crop out, at least for my talents.
 
Lucky you to be having a pet that poses! And apparently you are making the best of it - despite the cup ;).
I can't tell the same about our cat here... there is no photographing her easily unless she's asleep ... but she's that for so many hours during the day that actually there are opportunities galore. Always and again of a SLEEPING cat, though ;) :er:
